Sassuolo vs Fiorentina prediction

With top two sides in the league facing each other, Fiorentina could edge further closer to the top of the standings if they should win in Reggio Emilia, but that will be no easy task. Sassuolo sit pretty in sixth in spite of the defeat to Genoa and they have yet to lose a home fixture this season.

Neroverdi flying high

Rarely do we see low-profile sides quickly adapt to the elite division after gaining their first ever promotion to the top flight, but enough time has passed that we can safely say that Sassuolo has taken to Serie A like duck to water. The Neroverdi ended their maiden campaign in mid table, 15 points clear of the relegation zone, and having ended the previous season with four straight wins, they were able to continue the rich vein of form into the new championship. Sassuolo proved they will be no pushovers with back to back wins over Napoli and Bologna, and they have since climbed to sixth in the league standings, with the likes of Juventus, Lazio and Sampdoria all below them in the Serie A table. Neroverdi have been especially impressive at home, where they are unbeaten in nine games (W6 D3) if we also cound their last season’s results. And having already beaten Napoli, Lazio and Juventus at Citta del Tricolore, Sassuolo can definitely be trusted to make life difficult for Fiorentina, despite the fact that their star forward Domenico Berardi is banned after kicking Cristian Ansaldi against Genoa.

The Italy international starts a three-match suspension, while Luca Antei and Emanuele Terranova are sidelined through injury.

Fiorentina on cloud nine

Finishing fourth in Serie A is probably the worst thing that can happen to an aspiring side when we know that top 3 teams qualify for the Champions League, and Fiorentina have now had the misfortune of narrowly missing out on Champions League qualification three years in a row. However, the arrival of Paulo Sousa and several quality footballers has brought the new air of confidence to Artemio Franchi, with the club enjoying one of their best starts to a league campaign in years. The problem is that Inter, Napoli and AS Roma have also been quite impressive in the opening exchanges, but the fans must be delighted that Fiorentina finally look like a genuine top 3 side. Viola have been one of league’s most entertaining sides for years now, even when things did not go according to plan, and they remain as exciting to watch as ever, with both sides getting on the scoresheet in six of their last nine matches in all competitions. Fiorentina have been quite impressive on the road this term, winning six of last eight away games and scoring 18 goals in the process, with 4-1 triumph over current leaders Inter Milan probably the highlight of the campaign so far. Taking everything into account, Viola have reason to hope for a good result in Reggio Emilia.

Jakub Blaszczykowski is out through injury, whereas Nikola Kalinic will continue up front despite receiving quite a few knocks in midweek.

Sassuolo vs Fiorentina betting tip

Sassuolo have been relentless on home soil, defeating some of the best Serie A sides and no doubt they will go into the Fiorentina clash with a positive mindset as well. Meanwhile, Viola have been scoring more than two goals per away game on average, meaning we could easily see goals galore at Citta del Tricolore.
