Palermo vs Inter prediction

Palermo have recovered from a long run of defeats and will be highly motivated to record yet another win when they host Inter, the title contenders this season, who have suffered a dip in for recently.

A win – finally!

Palermo have finally ended their four-game losing streak in the last round when they triumphed over the struggling Bologna away (1-0). Giuseppe Iachini’s men have opened the new Serie A season on a high, with three wins and one draw, but have slumped to a losing run which saw them fall to the 11th place in the standings. Their win over Bologna will be a huge morale boost, and Palermo will be hoping to make a firm statement when they welcome the Italian powerhouse Inter this weekend. Rosanero are in for a tough ride though. They haven’t been impressive defensively, and it is worth mentioning that they have never managed to win once they concede a goals. Their strength lies in their attack, with Oscar Hiljemark and Franco Vazquez being particularly impressive so far. Palermo chairman Maurizio Zamparini has made a fine introduction to the Saturday’s game speaking highly of Inter manager Roberto Mancini who is being described as ‘the coach for the title’.

Iachini will be without three players for the upcoming event, as Francesco Bolzoni, Michel Morganella and Uros Djordevic are unavailable through their injuries.

Inter to go back to winning ways

Having opened the new Serie A season with five wins in a row, Inter have suffered a dip in their form, losing once and drawing twice in their last three league games. They were beaten by the fellow title contenders Fiorentina 4-1 at their own ground, but have managed to secure a point from their trip to Sampdoria (1-1), and then to halt the current champions Juventus in Milano with a goalless draw. Nerazzuri have put in a fine display against the Turin club and will use the positive atmosphere to try and get back on the winning ways this weekend. Roberto Mancini’s men find themselves in second place, one point shy of Fiorentina and will need to win if they want to keep up in the title race. Mancini has been heavily criticized for his style of play, having won four Serie A games 1-0. Stevan Jovetic is the team’s top scorer so far with three goals next to his name, and the fans will expect to see a lot more from their summer signing. Despite their low scoring exploits, Inter’s defence has been particularly impressive this season, allowing only six goals so far.

Inter manager will have all of his first-team players at disposal, with the exception of Adem Ljajic who is a major doubt for the trip to Palermo.

Palermo vs Inter betting tip

The host have recovered from a long run of disappointing results, but the game against Inter could prove to be another stumbling block for Iachini’s men. Nerazzuri are keen on getting back to winning ways and confirming their title bid and will throw all the chips on the table looking to record a much needed away win.

Tip: Away win
