Napoli vs Chievo prediction

Napoli want to get back to winning ways in their clash against Chievo in order to keep track with high-flying Juventus. I Mussi Volanti hope for the repetition of their last term triumph at Stadio San Paolo.

Napoli need a triumph

I Partenopei gave up valuable points in their draw with Fiorentina (1-1). The result was settled in the opening moments of the clash, with two quick-fired shots by Marcos Alonso and Gonzalo Higuain. The Argentinian forward thus ended his barren run, but failed to deliver a triumph for his team. Maurizio Sarri’s side are now five without a triumph in all competitions, trailing four points behind red-hot Juventus in the Serie A. If they plan to retain their title credentials, the Neapolitans need a triumph over i Mussi Volanti. Stadio San Paolo outfit are undefeated on home soil this term, they won their last two clashes against the Gialloblu and, if Higuain and Hamsik produce their best performance, I am confident Napoli will keep their chances for winning the title.

Raul Albiol is suspended for the match against Chievo. Ivan Strinic and Omar El Kaddouri are still having problems with their injuries and will remain sidelined.

Chievo got back to the top ten

Lucas Castro secured a victory for his team over Genoa by heading ‘s cross into Perin’s goal (1-0). This header fired i Mussi Volanti back to the upper half of the overall standings and created an eleven-point cushion between them and the danger zone. The current run of events allow Rolando Maran’s charges to go to Naples free of pressure. Their previous two visits to Stadio San Paolo were rather successful, since the Flying Donkeys took all three points last term, and shared the spoils with Napoli the year before. However, the team from Verona do not display such good performances on their travels of late, with three defeats form their last four away matches. Rolando Maran will most certainly be more than satisfied with a point form this encounter, although a defeat would not be considered as such a disaster.

Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi outfit will be without the likes of Massimo Gobi, who is suspended, while Alessandro Gamberini and Mariano Izco are injured. Roberto Inglese is having some muscle problems, and will have to wait for the final verdict of the medical staff.

Quick Facts

  • Napoli are five games without a win in all competitions
  • I Partenopei are undefeated at Stadio San Paolo this term in the league
  • Maurizio Sarri’s charges failed to triumph over Chievo in successive home matches
  • Rolando Maran’s side lost three of their previous four away fixtures
  • Two teams usually score less than 2.5 goals on average in mutual encounters

Napoli vs Chievo betting tip

Napoli are in a must win situation. Any other result will be conidered as a disaster, so I reckon Maurizio Sarri will go all guns blazing this Saturday. Chievo are a difficult team to beat when they play on the road, but it seems highly unlikely they are capable of recording a positive result. This is why I will put my money on the Partenopei.
