Head to head record

Palermo vs Frosinone 4-1 (2015/2016 Serie A)

Frosinone vs Palermo prediction

The Serie A survival will be at stake when Frosinone and Palermo take on each other at Stadio Comunale Matusa on Sunday. There will be fireworks when the two sides face each other in the relegation six-pointer and it remains to be seen who will have a reason for celebration this time out.

Heavy loss in the “City of Love”

Thanks to a 2-1 win over Hellas Verona Frosinone put an end to their four-game winless run in the Serie A. However, Verona’s neighbours Chievo proved to be a big catch for Roberto Stellone’s troops as they were beaten by the Mussi Volanti 5-1 in the “City of Love”. Frosinone failed to escape the relegation zone and they will not have a better chance to do so as they host Palermo at their Stadio Comunale Matusa. The Canarini, though, failed to score in four of their last five home games in the national championship and they will certainly give their all to put an end to the negative trend. Considering that Frosinone face Milan at Stadio San Siro on Matchday 36, I am positive that the hosts will fight tooth and nail in order to pick up all three points from Sunday’s game against Palermo, who are sitting in the relegation zone as well.

Chisbah and Ajeti both miss the match through suspension, while Sammarco and Dionisi are both sidelined with injury. Coach Roberto Stellone has no other selection worries ahead of Sunday’s relegation six-pointer.

Alarming situation

Palermo were having their ups and downs in the first half of the season, but the Rosanero have been totally out of form in 2016. The Sicilians on an 11-game winless run in the league and, as a result, they sit in the relegation zone in the Serie A standings. New boss Davide Ballardini has yet to record a win with Palermo, but Sunday’s game against Frosinone could be the turning point for the Italian tactician and his men. The Rosanero were hammered by defending champions Juventus in their last away fixture in the league, but they are certainly capable of grabbing something from the game against the fellow relegation strugglers. Alberto Gilardino came as a substitute in the 2-2 draw with Atalanta in midweek, but he is likely to lead the line for the visitors against Frosinone. It has to be noted that the Italian veteran has netted eight goals in 29 appearances for Palermo this season.

Coach Davide Ballardini can’t count on the likes of Struna and Vitiello (both suspended), but he has no injury worries ahead of the trip to Frosinone. Serbian attacker Uros Djurdjevic is likely to drop to the bench.

Quick Facts

  • Over 2.5 goals were scored in three of Frosinone’s last four league games
  • Frosinone failed to find the net in four of their last five home fixtures in the league
  • Palermo are on an 11-game winless run in Serie A
  • Rosanero conceded 15 goals in last five away matches in the league
  • Palermo crushed Frosinone 4-1 in their only previous meeting in Serie A

Frosinone vs Palermo betting tip

Both Frosinone and Palermo are desperate to secure the elite division survival and, no doubt, both teams will go for a win in Sunday’s game at Stadio Comunale Matusa. No less than five goals were netted when the two sides met at Stadio Renzo Barbera in the reverse fixture and, taking everything into account, I believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score this time out.

Tip: Both teams to score
