Carpi vs Juventus prediction
Italian champions travel to Carpi for their first ever Serie A visit to Modena-based club, looking to record yet another victory and to continue the impressive domestic run of six consecutive wins in the Italian top tier.
History in the making
Lowly Carpi are living the dream and the fact that the club is currently sitting in the gutter will not change the team’s morale ahead of the first ever visit from the reigning champions. Sean Sogliano’s men are tough to beat at home soil and Juventus should be very careful coming to Modena. Carpi have managed to hold mighty Milan and Napoli to goalless defeats at their Stadio Alberto Braglia, while they also gave Inter and Fiorentina a sweat in the two tight losses. One should take notice that Carpi managed to beat Viola away in the Coppa Italia during the week and there is no doubt that Gaudio’s winner will have been a huge boost to the team’s confidence and self-esteem. Marco Borriello will have provided his current team with significant information about Juventus since the experienced striker had a loan spell in Juve back in 2011/12 when he played 17 games for Bianchoneri. The 33-year-old forward has netted three times this season and will be expected to make a difference against his former employers.
Matteo Fedele, Igor Bubnjic and Wallace are the three absentees for the home side, who will sit out through the event due to their respective injuries.

High-flying Juventus
Apart from the 1-0 loss at Sevilla, which made no difference and didn’t have any competitive significance whatsoever, Juventus have been on a fantastic roll. Seven victories out of their last eight matches in all competitions have brought a significant change in fortunes for the reigning champions, who are back in business. Massimiliano Allegri’s charges find themselves fourth in the standings, just four points short of the leaders Inter and two away from Fiorentina and Napoli. Discarding the Old Lady following their patchy form at the beginning of the season turned out to be a foolish thing to do and there is no doubt that Juventus will try their best to record another Serie A win and make a real statement ahead of the Christmas holidays. Juve are coming off from the 4-0 derby thrashing of Torino. Paulo Dybala was once again on the mark and the Argentine striker has so far scored eight league goals, adding one more in the Coppa Italia. The 22-year-old forward is playing in excellent form and is making Allegri’s selection choices much easier.
Mario Lemina is a major doubt for the trip to Modena, while Roberto Pereyra has been a confirmed injury.
Quick Facts
- Juventus have scored at least 2 goals in 5 of their last 6 Serie A matches
- Carpi have failed to score in 4 of their last 6 league games
- The Old Lady are on a six-game winning streak in Serie A
- Paolo Dybala got his name on the scoresheet in 4 of the last 5 Serie A matches
- Carpi and Juventus have never met in the Italian top tier
Carpi vs Juventus betting tip
The home side are in deep in the relegation zone, six points away from safety but are not to be underestimated. Juventus are gaining momentum and should have no problems recording another Serie A win, though. I see them recording a win with a clean sheet in their visit to Carpi.
Tip: Juventus to win to nil
