Carpi vs Bologna prediction

The two relegation threatened sides Carpi and Bologna take on each other at Stadio Alberto Braglia on day 9 of the 2015/2021 Serie A campaign. The newcomers aim to bounce back from a 3-0 loss to Atlanta, but the visitors will surely give their best to grab something from the relegation six-pointer.

One win in eight matches

Carpi impressed in the Serie B last term, with the team finishing the season eight points clear of second-placed Frosinone. The Biancorossi totally deserved to secure promotion to the Italian top flight, but they do not seem to be competitive at this level. The newly-promoted side have recorded no more than one win in the 2015/2021 Serie A campaign and it is no surprise they sit in the relegation zone ahead of match day nine. Giuseppe Sannino’s men outplayed Torino in their last home fixture in the national championship and that is certainly giving the fans a reason for optimism ahead of Saturday’s encounter against Bologna. Carpi, though, suffered a 3-0 loss to Atalanta in Bergamo at the weekend and it remains to be seen if they are capable of bouncing back from the heavy defeat. Marco Borriello is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts against Bologna.

The likes of Martinho, Iniguez, Wilczek and Pasciuti all miss the Bologna game through injury, but there are no suspended players in the home team. Giuseppe Sannino is likely to stick to the 3-5-2 formation.

Four consecutive defeats

Bologna have been struggling in the Serie A campaign, with the team registering no more than one victory in the national championship to date. The Rossoblu suffered a 1-0 loss to Palermo in front of home fans at the weekend and they failed to put an end to their three-match losing run in the Serie A. Saturday’s match against fellow relegation strugglers Carpi is of big importance for Delio Rossi’s men and they will surely leave their hearts on the field in order to grab something from the game. Bologna, though, have suffered a loss in each of their four away fixtures this season and I am not sure if there is a big value in betting on the Rossoblu this time out. Mattia Destro has been playing below expectations this term and the 24-year-old attacker has yet to open his goal-scoring account in the 2015/2021 Serie A campaign. Anyhow, the former Roma attacker should be deployed up front in the 4-3-3 formation.

Franco Zuculini misses the trip to Carpi with injury, but he is the only absentee in the away side. Emanuele Giaccherini and Robert Acquafresca both return to contention after missing the Palermo game.

Carpi vs Bologna betting tip

When the two sides met at Stadio Alberto Braglia (Serie B) last term Carpi recorded a routine 3-0 win over Bologna and it remains to be seen if history will repeat itself on Saturday. The two sides seem to be evenly matched at the moment, but seeing that both Biancorossi and Rossoblu will go for a win in the relegation six-pointer, there is every chance we will see a lively contest in Carpi. Both coaches can count on their key attackers and, taking everything into account, both teams to score bet should be considered in this one.

Tip: Both teams to score
