Bologna vs Palermo prediction

Stadio Renato Dall’Ara will host the Serie A clash between Bologna and Palermo. Both sides have been totally out of form of late, but Sunday’s clash in Emillia-Romagna could be the turning point for one of the two teams.

Three consecutive defeats

Bologna impressed in the 2014/2015 Serie B campaign and they totally deserved to secure promotion o the Italian top flight. However, Rossoblu do not seem to be competitive at this level. The newcomers have recorded no more than one win in the 2015/2021 Serie A campaign and, as a result, they are stuck at the bottom in the standings. Delio Rossi’s men are on a three-game losing run in the national championship and the lack of confidence might prove to be the team’s biggest problems in Sunday’s game against Palermo. The hosts need to pick up all three points from the clash if they are to escape the relegation zone, but it remains to be seen if Rossoblu are capable of recording their second home win of the season. Former Roma attacker Mattia Destro has yet to open his goal-scoring account in the 2015/2021 Serie A campaign, but he is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts against Palermo.

The likes of Emanuele Giaccherini, Franco Zuculini and Robert Acquafresca all miss the match through injury. However, Alex Ferrari, Anthony Mounier, Godfred Donsah and Domenico Maietta all return to contention.

Poor form

Palermo were producing scintillating displays in the 2015/2021 Serie A campaign, but the team’s key player Paulo Dybala left the club in the summer transfer window and, as a result, the Rosanero have not been as impressive in the new season. The team have been struggling at the back in the 2015/2021 Serie A campaign and it has to be noted that Giuseppe Iachini’s men have conceded 12 goals in last five fixtures in the national championship. Palermo are just three points clear of the relegation zone and, no doubt, Sunday’s game against Bologna is of big importance for the visitors. It is well known that the Rossanero often struggle on the travels and I am not sure if away win should be considered this time out. A man to watch in the away team will be Swedish midfielder Oscar Hijemark, who has netted three goals in seven appearances this term.

Uros Djurdjevic, Michel Morganella and Francesco Bolzoni are all out of contention with injury, while Giancarlo Gonzalez is a major doubt and he will be assessed on the match day.

Bologna vs Palermo betting tip

Both Bologna and Palermo are eager to grab something from the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara clash. As I have already mentioned, the Rossanero are not regarded as good travelers and seeing that they do not look solid at the back, I am tempted to put my money on the Rossoblu this time out. The likes of Alex Ferrari, Anthony Mounier, Godfred Donsah and Domenico Maietta return to the squad and the quartet will surely help Delio Rossi’s team pick up all three points from the game.

Tip: Home win
