AC Milan vs Atalanta prediction

High-flying Milan will be aiming to extend their winning run to four matches when they host Atalanta at their San Siro on day 12 of the 2015/2021 Serie A campaign. The Rossoneri want to stay in the race for Scudetto, but the Orobici should not be written off just yet.

This is Milan!

Milan suffered a heavy 4-0 loss to Napoli at their Stadio San Siro last month. Many people expected that the Rossoneri would continue to struggle in the Serie A, but they proved they did well to prove the doubters wrong. Following a 1-1 draw with Torino Sinisa Mihajlovic’s men recorded three consecutive wins over the likes of Sassuolo, Chievo and Lazio and, as a result, they rejoined the race for the domestic trophy. Milan are just five points behind league leaders Fiorentina, meaning that Saturday’s clash against Atalanta is of big importance for the home team. Coach Mihajlovic is no longer under pressure and his men are surely brimming with confidence ahead of the upcoming match. Carlos Bacca found the net in the 3-1 win over Lazio at Stadio Olimpico and all eyes will be on the former Sevilla forward when Milan host Atalanta at Stadio San Siro. The Rossoneri are eyeing their fifth home win of the season.

Giacomo Bonaventura is sidelined through suspension, whilst Menez, Balotelli, Abate, Diego Lopez and Bertolacci all miss the game with injury. Sinisa Mihajlovic is likely to stick to the 4-3-3 formation.

Heavy loss to Bologna

Atalanta have been impressive at their Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia this season, but, on the other hand, the team have been struggling on the travels. The Orobici were totally outplayed by Bologna at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara at the weekend (0-3) and, as a result, they extended their losing run to three matches, speaking of away fixtures. Edoardo Reja’s men face an uphill task in Saturday’s match against in-form Milan, but the fact that they defeated the Rossoneri at Stadio San Siro last term is surely giving the fans a reason for optimism ahead of the trip to Milano. German Denis has been totally out of form this season and it is no surprise he lost his place in the starting line-up. Experienced forward Mauricio Pinilla has netted three goals this term and he is widely expected to lead the attack for the visitors against the Rossoneri. You should have in mind that Atalanta failed to score in last three away fixtures in the Serie A.

Emanuele Suagher remains on the sidelines, but he is the only absentee in the away side. Boukary Drame returns to the starting line-up, with Marcelo Estigarribia also being available for selection after he missed the Bologna game.

AC Milan vs Atalanta betting tip

Milan are eager to record their fourth consecutive win in the Serie A and seeing that Atalanta have been struggling on the road this term, there is every chance the Rossoneri will extend their winning run. Sinisa Mihajlovic’s troops have been producing fine displays at their Stadio San Siro in the 2015/2021 Serie A campaign and, taking everything into account, home win should be considered this time out. In their last meeting in the national championship (Bergamo) Milan recorded a 3-1 win over Atalanta.
