Celtic vs Hamilton prediction

Celtic will be looking to build on a thrilling 4-1 win over Dundee United when they square off against Hamilton Academical in a postponed Scottish Premier League game. The Hoops aim to cement top position in the standings, but the relegation strugglers should not be written off just yet.

Can anyone stop Leigh Griffiths?

Celtic endured a surprising slow start to the season, meaning that they will have to keep on raising their game if they are to defend their Scottish Premier League trophy. The Hoops have been impressive in 2016 so far and they will be looking to keep their 100% record intact when they take on Hamilton at their Celtic Park on Tuesday evening. Ronny Deila’s men head into the match following a routine 4-1 win over Dundee United and it has to be noted that Leigh Griffiths scored his 50th goal for the Celtic Park outfit at the weekend. Griffiths harbours Scotland dream and no doubt he will pose a big threat for the opposition defenders in Tuesday’s Scottish Premier League game. It is well known that Celtic are a real force to be reckoned with at home and they are widely expected to record eighth home win of the season.

Coach Ronny Deila has no fresh injury worries ahead of the visit of Hamilton and he is unlikely to make too many changes to the team that faced Dundee United at the weekend.

Seven games without a win

Hamilton Academical suffered a 4-3 loss to Inverness in their last game in 2015, but they are unbeaten in the new year, with the team sharing the spoils with the likes of Motherwell and St. Johnstone in previous two league games. The Accies, though, are on a seven-game winless run in all competitions and with Celtic next they are unlikely to put an end to the negative trend. Hamilton have been struggling at the back this season and it has to be noted that they have conceded 11 goals in previous four games in all competitions. Martin Canning’s men defeated Celtic in Glasgow last season and the visitors definitely want history to repeat itself. However, given the team’s poor form, I do not believe that they are capable of claiming a major scalp this time out. You should bear in mind that the Accies have registered no more than three wins on the road this season.

Dougie Imrie returns from suspension and he is likely to be recalled to the starting line-up. Grant Gillespie could return to the starting XI after he came as a substitute in the goalless draw with St. Johnstone.

Quick Facts

  • Celtic are eyeing their sixth clean sheet at Celtic Park
  • Hoops have scored 25 goals at home ground this season so far
  • Ronny Deila’s team are after their fourth consecutive triumph over Hamilton
  • Hamilton failed to score in two of their last three away games
  • Accies are on a seven-game winless run in the national championship

Celtic vs Hamilton betting tip

David faces Goliath at Celtic Park. Celtic are superior to Hamilton and seeing that the reigning champions have yet to get their job done in the Scottish Premier League, I am positive that the hosts will go all guns blazing at Hamilton on Tuesday evening. Leigh Griffiths impressed in the 4-1 win over Dundee United and I do not believe that the visitors are capable of stopping the 25-year-old forward, who has netted 17 goals in 18 appearances with the Hoops this term.

Tip: Celtic to win + both teams to score
