Liverpool vs Swansea prediction

Liverpool and Swansea take on each other on Sunday coming into the game at Anfield in contrasting forms. The hosts are unbeaten since the September derby against Manchester United and have restored their confidence against the new manager, while the Swans have recorded only one win in their last ten outings.

Red-hot Reds

Jurgen Klopp has done wonders in his short time as Liverpool’s new manager, but is yet to score his first home league win. The German mastermind has transformed the Reds, having restored much of his players’ lost confidence and the atmosphere is much different than a couple of months ago. His instant influence has been showcased through the team’s play, which now looks much faster, direct and dominant. As the result, Liverpool have recorded several pretty impressive results, most notably the 3-1 win against Chelsea and their most recent 4-1 league triumph against Manchester City, which was the perfect response to the surprising loss against Crystal Palace. The Reds have recorded another impressive win during the week in UEFA Europa League against Bordeaux (2-1) which allowed them to book their place in the knock-out stage of the competition. Despite the fact he was faced with a lot of selection problems, Jurgen Klopp has done wonders to compensate for absences and his resolve is paying dividends.

The German will once again have no less than seven players in the medical room. Flanagan, Henderson, Gomez, Ings, Rossiter, Sakho and Sturridge are out, while Philippe Coutinho is a doubt. The Brazilian should be fit to feature after missing out in the midweek. Lucas Leiva completes the list of absentees with his suspension.

Fallen Swans

Only three wins in the league so far have seen Swansea drop to the 14th place in the standings with only 14 points next to their name. Gary Monk’s troops are enduring a tough ride this season with only one win in their last ten games. Six of those ten were lost, most recently to Arsenal and Norwich City respectively, before they managed to pull a 2-2 home draw against Bournemouth last time out. The pressure is starting to pile up on the manager, despite the fact that Gary Monk is insisting he has the trust of chairman Huw Jenkins. However, the team will need to start delivering if they are to match their last season eight-placed Premier League finish. The Swans have won just one of their last seven league away games, but Monk will be hopeful his team will benefit from the returns of Federico Fernandez, Jack Cork, Gulfy Sigurdsson, Jefferson Montero and Bafetimbi Gomis who have all missed the Bournemouth game last weekend. Andre Ayew has been perhaps the one bright light in the team with the Ghana midfielder bagging six goals in 13 games so far.

The good thing for Gary Monk is the fact he will have almost all of his players at disposal. Jonjo Shelvey is the only one on the sidelines, as Swansea midfielder is suspended for the return to his former club.

Liverpool vs Swansea betting tip

The hosts bounced back from their loss to Crystal Palace prior to the international break and have continued to impress across the competitions. Swansea will be no match for the in-form hosts who will be eager to record their first home win for the new manager.
