Leicester City vs West Ham United prediction

The Foxes could make a giant step towards the trophy if they achieve a victory against the Hammers this weekend. However, Slaven Bilic’s charges are a tough nut to crack in the league and, bearing in mind they still have a chance to finish in the top-four, West Ham will present a difficult opponent this time out.

Leicester will go for a win

Vardy’s brace against Sunderland in the previous round secured all three points for the Foxes, thus continuing the winning streak of his team. The rock-solid defense recorded their fifth clean sheet in as many matches, curtesy of Kasper Schmeichel, and if Leicester can keep up with their displays, the league trophy is bound to end in Leicestershire in May. However, there is still work to be done, with five more games to go and Claudio Ranieri’s charges still need nine points to secure the top position, provided that the Spurs win every match until the end. The Foxes have been rather successful against the Hammers in recent matches, and they are the only top-four team that did not suffer a defeat against West Ham this season. Even a draw in the forthcoming match will not be a terrible result, but the share of spoils would allow Tottenham to reduce the gap, provided they achieve a win at Britannia on Monday. This is why Leicester do not want to leave anything to chances and will go for all three points.

Matthew James still has certain issues whit his cruciate ligament injury, and will remain sidelined, while Jeffrey Schlupp fully recovered from his knee injury.

The Hammers finally defeated at Olympic Stadium

West Ham suffered their first defeat on home soil since August, as the Red Devils outplayed the Hammers and booked a place in the FA Cup semi-finals. Slaven Bilic’s side did have their chances, but De Gea was simply amazing, especially in the final 15 minutes of the game, securing the pass to the next round for his team. This has been a rather difficult week for Boleyn Ground outfit, after being forced to share the spoils with Arsenal in the previous league round, even though they were in front. If they fail to book a place in the Champions League next season, the Hammers can only blame the excessive number of draws (13) this term. Have they turned a couple of them into victories, they would be breathing down Manchester City’s necks for fourth place. Nevertheless, the Irons proved more than once they can defeat a top-flight team, and will certainly look to avenge their League Cup defeat and if Payet and Lanzini have their day, anything is possible this weekend.

Slaven Bilic has no injury concerns for the forthcoming encounter, since Diafra Sakho is fully fit. The Croatian tactician will have the entire team at disposal.

Quick Facts

  • The Foxes are on a seven-game undefeated run in the league
  • Leicester are unbeaten in their last three encounters with the Hammers
  • West Ham are five without a win in all competitions
  • Slaven Bilic’s men recorded their last league defeat in February (W3 D3)
  • Both teams scored in six of their last seven meetings

Leicester City vs West Ham United betting tip

This will certainly be the most interesting clash of the round, bearing in mind that both teams have a lot at stake. Even though it is almost impossible to beat Schmeichel in recent matches, the Hammers have been rather efficient on the road of late, and we can expect goals on both ends of the pitch. Bearing in mind the current form of the hosts, I will give a slight advantage to Leicester in this encounter.

Tip: Leicester to win
