Bournemouth vs West Ham prediction

Having already beaten Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City on the road this season, West Ham United should consider a trip to Bournemouth appealing. The Cherries, though, have been in a fine form of late and they are certainly capable of extending their unbeaten run at home ground to four matches.

One loss in last eight league games

Even though many people expected that Bournemouth would finish the first half of the season in bottom three, the Cherries did well to prove the doubters wrong. Eddie Howe is doing a great job with the Vitality Stadium outfit and his men sit in 16th place in the standings ahead of Matchday 21. A win over West Ham United would see the newcomers overtake defending champions Chelsea in the EPL table and the fact that they suffered only one defeat in previous eight league fixtures is giving the fans a reason for optimism ahead of the visit of Slaven Bilic’s troops. Bournemouth head into Tuesday’s Premier League game following a 2-1 win over Birmingham City in the FA Cup last 64, meaning that the hosts are brimming with confidence at the moment. Seeing that key attacker Callum Wilson remains in the recovery room, Glen Murray, who scored the winner against Birmingham City, is likely to lead the attack for the hosts against West Ham.

Simon Francis misses the match through suspension, while the likes of Callum Wilson, Max Gradel, Tyrone Mings and Tommy Elphick are all sidelined with injury. Joshua King should be recalled to the starting XI.

Three-game winning run

West Ham United were struggling to find their form in November, but it has to be noted that Slaven Bilic had a number of injury worries back then. Ever since key players returned to the squad, the Hammers have been producing fine displays in the Premier League and the capital club will be looking to build on back-to-back wins over Southampton and Liverpool when they take on Bournemouth on Tuesday evening. West Ham have been impressive at the back of late and they managed to keep a clean sheet in the FA Cup win over Wolves (1-0) as well. Slaven Bilic rested several first-team regulars in the victory over the Championship side, but, no doubt, the Croatian tactician is going to field the best possible side against Bournemouth. Andy Carroll found the net against his old club on Matchday 20, meaning that the opposition defenders should have him at bay. The Hammers did defeat the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City on the road, but you should bear in mind that they are on a five-match winless run at the moment, speaking of away fixtures.

Diafra Sakho and Manuel Lanzini have yet to overcome their respective injuries, while Victor Moses is unlikely to recover in time to face the Cherries.

Quick Facts

  • Bournemouth failed to score in previous three league games
  • Cherries recorded only one win in last six matches at Vitality Stadium
  • Under 2.5 goals were scored in Bournemouth’s last three league fixtures
  • West Ham United are on an eight-game unbeaten run
  • Hammers netted one goal in previous three away games

Bournemouth vs West Ham betting tip

When the two sides met at Boleyn Ground in the reverse fixture Callum Wilson scored a brace for Bournemouth and helped the Cherries record a 4-3 win over West Ham United. However, both team were scoring goals for fun at the start of the season, but seeing that they have not been as impressive in front of goal of late, I would not be surprised if we see a low-scoring affair this time out. Bournemouth attackers cannot find their scoring boots and considering that Slaven Bilic’s team look strong defensively, under 2.5 goals bet should be considered.

Tip: Under 2.5 goals
