PSG vs Troyes prediction

Title holders PSG will be looking to cement top position in the Ligue 1 standings with a win over Troyes. The newcomers are eyeing their first win of the season, but beating les Parisiens on the road is easier said than done.

Eighth consecutive wins

PSG are on the right track to defend the domestic trophy. Les Parisiens sit in top position in the Ligue 1 standings ahead of match day 15 and they are 13 points clear of second-placed Lyon. The capital club have been scoring goals for fun in the first half of the season and they will be looking to extend their winning run to nine matches when they square off against Troyes at their Parc des Princes. Laurent Blanc’s men got their job done in the Champions League in midweek, with the team crushing Malmo 5-0 on the road and no doubt the confidence is soaring in Paris ahead of the visit of the rock-bottom side. Angel Di Maria produced a brilliant display against Malmo and the former Real Madrid star will surely pose a big threat for the opposition defenders. You should have in mind that PSG have netted 14 goals in previous four home fixtures in the national championship.

Marco Verratti misses the match with injury, while the likes of Serge Aurier, David Luiz and Ezequiel Lavezzi are all doubtful and the trio will be assessed on the match day. Di Maria returns to the starting line-up after missing the Lorient game.

Troyes not competitive at this level

Newly-promoted side Troyes have been struggling in the 2015/2021 Ligue 1 campaign. The rock-bottom side have yet to record a win this season and it has to be noted that they have suffered five losses in previous six league matches. Jean-Marc Furlan’s men are nine points behind the safe zone and no doubt they are on a very difficult quest. Troyes have suffered a loss in each of their last four away fixtures, but the players gave the fans something to cheer about as they shared the spoils with Lille at their Stade l’Aube. Anyhow, Jean-Marc Furlan’s team face an uphill task in Saturday’s match against PSG and the relegation strugglers will be more than happy if they avoid a heavy loss to the reigning champions at Parc des Princes. French youngster Corentin Jean is widely expected to lead the line for the visitors against les Parisiens.

Jean-Marc Furlan can’t count on the likes of Mahamadou N’Diaye, Mory Kone, Rincon and Guillaume Lacour. Matthieu Saunier is a major doubt and he will be monitored ahead of the kick-off.

PSG vs Troyes betting tip

David faces Goliath at Parc des Princes on Saturday. The defending champions have been in a brilliant form of late and they are eager to move one step closer to winning the Ligue 1 title. Troyes, on the other hand, do not seem to be competitive at this level and they are unlikely to upset Laurent Blanc’s troops in the “City of Lights”. PSG are a real force to be reckoned with at home and anything but a routine home win will be a major surprise. In their last meeting at Parc des Princes PSG recorded a 4-0 win over Troyes.
