Real Sociedad vs Levante prediction

Real Sociedad want to get back to winning ways after their defeat against Atletico Madrid in the previous round. Levante hope for their second away triumph this season in order to arrest the negative trend on their travels.

Real Sociedad want to remain in the top ten

Atletico Madrid recorded a comfortable win against Real Sociedad last Tuesday and ended the Txuriurdin’s five-game undefeated run in La Liga. Nevertheless, Eusebio Sacristan’s charges remained in the top ten of the overall standings and will have an opportunity to record new three points against bottom-draw Levante. In the absence of Imanol Agirretxe, Jonathas took his place in attack and has been producing important goals of late. The team from San Sebastian are a tough nut to crack at Anoeta, with a single defeat in their last nine home encounters in all competitions. The Basques recorded an easy triumph against Rubi’s charges in the reverse fixture and, judging by the miserable form of les Granotes when playing on the road this term, chances are the home supporters will celebrate yet another victory of their team.

Eusebio Sacristan will be without the likes of Aggiretxe (knock), Zurutuza (knock), Bergara (knock), Carlos Martinez (hamstring), Raul Navas (pubalgia) and Canales (ACL), who are all sidelined due to injury.

Levante up for a heavy battle to avoid relegation

Levante’s defeat against Real Madrid was their seventeenth this season in La Liga (3-1). Rubi hoped his charges could take advantage of the disharmony between Real’s players caused by the defeat against Atletico, but los Merengues pulled their acts together and recorded an important triumph, leaving les Granotes rooted to the bottom of the Primera Division. Deyverson’s goal was the only thing worth mentioning in the performance of the home team, who could start packing their bags for the Segunda if they don’t start producing as soon as possible. Now Ciutat de Valencia outfit travel to San Sebastian, hoping to record their second triumph at Anoeta since March 2010. This will not be an easy task, bearing in mind the fact that Rubi’s charges are on a seven-game losing streak on their travels, mostly thanks to their toothless attack, who failed to score in four of those matches. Levante’s forwards struggle in front of the opposition goal and I don’ expect a drastic change this time out.

There are no fresh injury concerns for Rubi, so he will have almost his entire team at disposal. Pedro Lopez (knee) is the only player in the recovery room and will miss the clash against Real Sociedad.

Quick Facts

  • Real Sociedad are on a six-game undefeated run against Levante
  • The Txuriurdin suffered a single defeat on home soil in their last nine matches
  • Rubi’s charges lost seven straight away fixtures
  • Les Granotes won just once at Anoeta (D5 L3)
  • Ciutat de Valencia outfit netted a single goal in their previous five matches against the Basques

Real Sociedad vs Levante betting tip

Rock-bottom Levante are in miserable form, especially on their travels. Real Sociedad plan to stay in the top ten, hence they need a triumph against les Granotes. I do not expect a lot of fireworks this time out, but I do believe that the hosts are more than capable of taking all three points from this clash.

Tip: Home win
