Real Sociedad vs Las Palmas prediction

Las Palmas were more than unfortunate not to grab something from Sunday’s game against Real Madrid, but they will be aiming to build on the performance they produced in the 2-1 loss to Zinedine Zidane’s troops when they take on Real Sociedad on Matchday 30.

Yet another winless run

Real Sociedad are one of the most unpredictable teams in La Liga. The Basques have been having their ups and downs in the 2015/2016 La Liga campaign and, as a result, they occupy tenth position in the standings ahead of Matchday 30. Eusebio Sacristan’s team do not seem to be at the top of their game and it has to be noted that his men scored only one goal in previous three league matches. La Real are on a four-game winless run in the national championship, but Saturday’s match against Las Palmas could be the turning point for the Estadio Municipal de Anoeta outfit. Imanol Agirretxe has been struggling with injuries of late and there is every chance Brazilian attacker Jonathas will lead the line for the hosts against los Amarillos. You should have in mind that La Real are eyeing their sixth home win of the season, with the team beating the likes of Granada, Real Betis, Valencia, Eibar and Sevilla in front of home fans to date.

Carlos Vela returns to the starting line-up after serving his ban (by the club), while the likes of Zurutuza, Carlos Martinez, Raul Navas, Eneko Capilla and Canales are all out of contention with injury.

Unlucky defeat to Real Madrid

Despite producing a thrilling display in the second half of Sunday’s game against Real Madrid, Las Palmas eventually conceded a late goal and suffered a 2-1 loss to los Blancos. Los Amarillos did well to make life difficult for Barcelona when the two sides met in Gran Canaria earlier this season and, no doubt, the newcomers are capable of spoiling La Real’s party at “Anoeta” on Saturday evening. Las Palmas defeated the likes of Eibar and Villarreal (without conceding) in previous two away fixtures in La Liga and it remains to be seen if they are capable of extending the winning run to three matches. Willian Jose has been in a fine form in the second half of the season and he is likely to be deployed up front as a lone striker.

Coach Quique Setien can’t count on the likes of Hernan, Mubarak, Vicente Gomez and Javi Castellano (all injury), but there are no suspended players in the away team.

Quick Facts

  • Real Sociedad are on a six-game unbeaten run at home
  • La Real failed to record a win in previous four games in the league
  • Eusebio Sacristan’s troops failed to beat Las Palmas in previous five attempts
  • Las Palmas are after their third consecutive clean sheet on the road
  • Los Amarillos defeated La Real twice in previous three meetings between the two teams

Real Sociedad vs Las Palmas betting tip

Real Sociedad are eager to get back on course with a win over Las Palmas, but Saturday’s game against los Amarillos will be anything but a walk in the park for the hosts. Quique Setien’s men produced a promising display in the defeat to Real Madrid and I would not be surprised if they manage to pick up one point from Saturday’s match against Eusebio Sacristan’s charges.
