Real Betis vs Levante prediction

Real Betis will be looking to bounce back from a heavy 5-1 loss to Atletico Madrid when they take on Levante in Saturday’s relegation six-pointer. Both teams are eager to secure the top flight survival and, no doubt, there will be fireworks when the two teams take on each other at Estadio Benito Villamarin.

Three defeats in a row

Athletic Bilbao proved to be a big catch for Real Betis on Matchday 29, but everybody expected that los Beticos would grab something from the clash against fellow Andalusian side Malaga. However, Juan Merino’s team suffered a 1-0 loss to Malaga at their Estadio Benito Villamarin and, to make things even worse for the fans, the team were hammered by Atletico Madrid in the Spanish capital at the weekend. Real Betis are just six points clear of the relegation zone and the players are certainly aware of the importance of Saturday’s clash against Levante. Ruben Castro added one goal to his account at the weekend and the team’s top scorer is widely expected to lead the line for the hosts against los Levantinos. Los Beticos are after their only fourth home win of the season.

Musonda is a major doubt and he will be assessed on the match day, while Juan Manuel Vargas is unlikely to be risked. Coach Juan Merino has no other selection worries ahead of the visit of Levante.

Hard times in Valencia

Levante gave fans some cheer on Matchday 29, with the team beating Valencia in the local derby, but the team suffered a 2-1 loss to Deportivo La Coruna a week later. Los Levantinos desperately needed a win against Sporting Gijon on Monday, but they failed to get one. Rubi’s men shared the spoils with Abelardo’s troops and, as a result, they are still sitting at the rock-bottom in the La Liga standings. Levante do not seem to be at the top of their game ahead of the trip to Seville and I do not believe that away win should be considered. It is well known that los Levantinos struggle on the travels, with the team recording their last win on the road on 22 November, 2015. Deyverson has overcome his injury and he is likely to be deployed up front, alongside Giuseppe Rossi.

Simao Junior returns from suspension, but Feddal is banned this time out. Iven Lopez is likely to miss the match with injury, but coach Rubi has no other injury concerns ahead of the match.

Quick Facts

  • Real Betis are on a three-match losing run in La Liga
  • Los Beticos scored 1+ goals in five of their last six home games in the league
  • Levante are on a nine-match winless run on the road in La Liga
  • Los Levantinos failed to beat Levante in last five meetings between the two teams
  • Ruben Castro scored the winner for Real Betis in the reverse fixture (1-0)

Real Betis vs Levante betting tip

Real Betis aim to escape the danger zone and taking into account Levante’s poor form, I believe that there is a big value in betting on the Andalusian outfit this time out. Los Beticos are desperate to put an end to their three-game losing run in La Liga and they are likely to beat los Levantinos, who are on a nine-match winless run on the road.

Tip: Real Betis to win
