Getafe vs Rayo Vallecano prediction

Out-of-sorts Getafe will be looking to put an end to their three-game losing run in La Liga when they square off against Rayo Vallecano in a small Madrid derby. Los Vallecanos aim to build on a 2-1 win over Granada, but beating the local rivals at Coliseum Alfonso Perez is easier said than done.

Poor form

Getafe have been struggling in the national championship of late. Following back-to-back defeats to the likes of Sevilla and Barcelona, los Azulones were beaten by Eibar in the Basque Country in their last league match. As a result, the capital club dropped to 16th place in the standings and they are just one points clear of the relegation zone ahead of match day 12. Fran Escriba’s troops are desperate to put an end to the negative trend and the fact that they have recorded three wins at home ground this season is giving the fans a reason for optimism ahead of Monday’s clash against Rayo. Getafe are one of those teams who are tough to beat at home soil, but it has to be noted that they were beaten by los Vallecanos at their Coliseum Alfonso Perez in previous four meetings between the two teams.

Damian Suarez and Alexis Ruano are both sidelined through suspension, whilst Alvaro Medran misses the match with injury. Serbian attacker Stefan Scepovic is likely to be recalled to the starting XI.

Three-game losing run on the road

Rayo Vallecano have been having their ups and downs of late. Los Vallecanos have defeated the likes of Espanyol and Granada at home ground, but they have been struggling on the travels in recent weeks. Paco Jemez’s troops are on a three-match losing run on the road and you should know that they have recorded only one away win in the 2015/2016 la Liga campaign. Rayo Vallecano occupy 13th position in the standings and they certainly want to regain their place in the top half of the table as soon as possible. Los Vallecanos are after their fifth consecutive win over Getafe, speaking of matches at Coliseum Alfonso Perez, but Monday’s clash against los Azulones will be anything but a walk in the park for the visitors. Experienced striker Javi Guerra has been in a thrilling form this season and all eyes will be on the former Real Valladolid man when the two teams take on each other in the city derby.

First-choice goalkeeper Tono has joined full-back Razvan Rat in the recovery room, whilst Ze Castro misses the match through suspension. Nacho Martinez is likely to replace Razvan Rat in the starting XI. Coach Paco Jemez should stick to the 4-2-3-1 formation.

Getafe vs Rayo Vallecano betting tip

Getafe head into the local derby with a severely-weakened squad. Coach Fran Escriba can’t count on key defenders and I would not be surprised if Rayo Vallecano find the net in Monday’s Primera Division match. Los Azulones have been producing very good performances at home ground and seeing that Rayo are not regarded as good travelers, I believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. In their last meeting at Coliseum Alfonso Perez Rayo Vallecano recorded a 2-1 win over Getafe.

Tip: Both teams to score

Odds: 1.77 (7/8) @10Bet
