Eibar vs Sevilla prediction

Buoyed by a thrilling 2-1 win over defending champions Barcelona, Sevilla take on Eibar at Estadio Municipal de Ipurua on day 8 of the 2015/2021 la Liga campaign. Los Sevillanos are after their first away win of the season and it remains to be seen if they are capable of putting an end to Eibar’s three-game unbeaten run in the national championship.

Fine form

Eibar were more than fortunate not to drop to Segunda Division at the end of the last season, but los Armeros have been handed yet another chance to prove their worth in the Spanish top flight. Fran Escriba is no longer in charge of the team and the Estadio Municipa de Ipurua outfit have been producing fine performances under new boss Jose Luis Mendilibar. Eibar sit in seventh place in la Liga standings and thanks to a 2-0 win at Las Palmas the team extended their unbeaten run in the national championship to three matches. Los Armeros are after their second home win of the season and they are surely capable of making life difficult for los Sevillanos at their Estadio Municipal de Ipurua. A man to watch in the home team will be Borja Baston, who has netted four goals in seven appearances this season.

Luna and Jaime both missed the Las Palmas game with injury and they are both doubtful for the Sevilla match. Lillo Castellano, though, has recovered in time to face los Sevillanos.

Morale-boosting win over Barcelona

Despite the fact that Sevilla chiefs pumped up a lot of money into the squad in the summer transfer window, los Sevillanos have not been impressive in the 2015/2021 la Liga campaign so far. The team made a slow start to the season, but they have been showing signs of improvement in recent weeks. Following a 3-2 win over Rayo Vallecano, los Sevillanos outplayed Barcelona in their second consecutive home fixture in the national championship and, as a result, Unai Emery’s men moved away from the danger zone. Sevilla are now on a quest to record their first away win of the season and they will surely adopt an attack-minded approach in Saturday’s match against Eibar. New signing Krohn-Dehli produced a splendid display in the 2-1 win over Barcelona and the Danish international will be one of the men to watch in the away side in the clash against Eibar. Kevin Gameiro is widely expected to lead the attack for the visitors against los Armeros.

The likes of Rami, Escudero, Tremoulinas and Banega return to training and they are in contention for the Eibar game. First-choice goalkeeper Beto remains in the recovery room. Summer signing Fernando Llorente is likely to start from the bench.

Eibar vs Sevilla betting tip

Both Eibar and Sevilla have been producing fine performances of late and seeing that Estadio Municipal de Ipurua will host Saturday’s la Liga clash between the two sides, there is every chance we will see a close encounter in the Basque Country. It is well known that Sevilla struggle on the travels, but I believe that Unai Emery’s troops are capable of picking up one point from the Eibar game. Taking everything into account, the hosts are likely to extend their unbeaten run in la Liga to four matches.
