Celta Vigo vs Valencia prediction

Having recorded a come-from-behind win over Real Sociedad at the weekend, Celta Vigo will be looking to give their fans yet another reason for celebration when they host Valencia at their Estadio de Balaidos on Saturday.

Impressive start

Over the years Celta Vigo have established themselves as a top-table side in Spanish La Liga. Os Celeste finished the 2014/2015 Primera Division campaign in eighth place in the standings and they have been impressive in the new campaign. Eduardo Berizzo’s men have been scoring goals for fun of late and they have already recorded six wins in the 2015/2021 La Liga campaign. The Galician side showed character in Saturday’s match against Real Sociedad at Estadio de Balaidos. They twice came from behind to pick up all three points from the game and, no doubt, the confidence is soaring at Estadio de Balaidos ahead of Saturday’s clash against Valencia. Iago Aspas scored a brace in the 3-2 win over David Moyes’ troops and he will surely pose a big threat for los Che. It has to be noted that Celta Vigo are eyeing their third home win of the season.

Gustavo Cabral is sidelined through suspension, but Eduardo Berizzo has no other selection worries ahead of the match. In-form winger Nolito is likely to keep his place up front. Augusto Fernandez returns to contention after missing the Real Sociedad clash through suspension.

Poor away record

The 2015/2021 campaign has been a mixed bag for Valencia so far. Los Che are on the right track to book their place in the Champions League knockout stages, but they have not been impressive in La Liga this season. Nuno Espirito Santo’s men suffered a loss in each of their last three away fixtures, but they head into Saturday’s match against Celta Vigo following a 3-0 win over Levante in the city derby. Paco Alcacer finally scored and, in Alvaro Negredo’s absence, the former Getafe attacker is likely to lead the line for the away team against Celta. Valencia are eager to put an end to their three-game losing run on the road, but beating the high-flying Galicians on the road is easier said than done. Alvaro Negredo is likely to be left out of contention once again and, as things stand now, the Spanish attacker could leave the club in the summer transfer window.

Enzo Perez is suspended for the game, while Skhodran Mustafi returns to contention after missing the Levante game through suspension. Diego Alves has yet to recover from his injury and he remains in the treatment room.

Celta Vigo vs Valencia betting tip

Celta Vigo suffered a 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in their last home fixture in La Liga, but it has to be noted that they produce a fine performance against Rafa Benitez’s troops. Important midfielder Augusto Fernandez returns to the starting line-up and seeing that Valencia, who are playing on three fronts, have been struggling on the travels this term, I believe that there is a big value in betting on the Galician outfit this time out. A win over los Che would see Os Celeste stay in the race for the domestic title.

Tip: Home win
