Celta Vigo vs Getafe prediction

Having definitely been one of the biggest surprises of the new campaign so far, Celta Vigo will be looking to continue their fantastic form when they welcome Getafe to Balaidos on Friday, in the first encounter of the round eight in La Liga.

Celestial Celta

The patience has been fully rewarded, fans of Celta Vigo are enjoying the fanstastic starto to the new campaign by their club which has made a steady progress in the last couple of campaigns. Celta Vigo have managed to win four games so far and draw two, with not a single loss after six rounds and the total of 14 points to their name. Having passed their biggest test so far with flying colours as they hammered the current Champions Barcelona 4-1 last weekend, Celta Vigo have succumbed to an emotional dip only three days later as they shared spoils with Eibar away in the midweek round. Sitting fourth in the La Liga standings, Eduardo Berizzo’s charges have made a clear point, and will look to continue their winning spree on Friday night. Nolito and Aspas have been particularly impressive so far with the latter scoring three goals in last two games, and the fans will be expecting more from the revitalized striker.

Berizzo will have his full crop of players to choose from and is unlikely to make any changes to his in-form team. It is still worth mentioning that Andreu Fontas and Ruben Blanco are still absent, while Augusto Fontas joined them in the treatment room.

Unpredictable Getafe

Lack of consistency is giving Fran Escriba a major headache in the new season. Getafe have been pretty erratic with their league form so far, and the score of two wins and four defeats after six round has been enough for the 13th place in the La Liga standings. Getafe are having much trouble playing away with no points collected out of their grounds this term and will be faced with a stern test to turn the tables around against the in-form Celta. In addition to their away losing streak, Escriba’s charges failed to score in five of their last seven away matches in domestic competition. Getafe improved their scorings a bit in the midweek’s 3-0 win over Levante. Fans are glad to see their Alvaro Vazquez score a brace in the game and will certainly hope for another inspired performance.

Getafe have only two players on the injury list with Robert Lago a confirmed absentee and Mehdi Lacen still battling with his injury hoping to be passed fit for the Friday’s encounter. Double scorer Vazquez should be given a nod in front of Stefan Scepovic this time out.

Celta Vigo vs Getafe betting tip

The hosts have been in surprisingly fine form this season and I expect their positive run to continue. Celta are undefeated in their last 11 matches in La Liga, while their opposition have had a lot of troubles in the new campaign. Getafe have been losing at both half-time and full-time in six of their last seven games this term and with the motivation and yearning of the home team I fully expect the same outcome come Friday.

Tip: Celta/Celta
