Oleg Shatov (20/2), Vasili Berezutski (91/4) and Igor Smolnikov (10/0) are all unavailable through injury, whereas coach Leonid Slutski did not want to take any chances with Aleksandr Kokorin, who is not fully fit.

Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was left out of the squad in order to get some rest, which did not go down well among Portugal fans, with Ricardo Carvalho, Ricardo Quaresma and Tiago Mendes also allowed to skip the November friendlies.

The likes of Fabio Coentrao, Danny, Eder, Joao Moutinho, Andre Gomes and Adrien Silva all miss out through injury, with Ruben Neves and Rafa Silva drafted into the squad.
