Theo Walcott is also pushing for a start after netting a brace against minnows San Marino, whereas Michael Carrick could also be given a chance to shine after struggling for playing time at Manchester United.

Team News:

Following the amazing comeback that saw Switzerland secure a 3-2 win over Slovenia by scoring three late goals, the national team players failed to get enough sleep as they had to take anti-doping test early in the morning.

That is unlikely to have caused too many problems though as the victory on Sunday saw the Rossocrociati create a five-point advantage over third-placed Estonia, meaning they head to Wembley in excellent spirits.

Goalkeeper Yan Sommer had recovered in time to take his place in goal, while Josip Drmic (21/8) and Breel Embolo (4/0) could be drafted into the starting line-up after playing key roles in helping the team defeat Slovenia.

Players to watch: Josip Drmic, Xherdan Shaqiri, Breel Embolo.

Probable starting line-up (4-3-3): Sommer – Lichtsteiner, Klose, Schar, Rodriguez – Behrami, Xhaka, Dzemaili – Shaqiri, Drmic, Embolo.
