Chile vs Jamaica Team News

Eugenio Mena suffered an ankle injury and he is definitely out of contention. Marcelo Diaz was forced to withdraw due to personal reasons. Jorge Valdivia has been overlooked, whereas Marcelo Larrondo misses the game with injury. Bayern Munich ace Arturo Vidal, Arsenal winger Alexis Sanchez and Mauricio Pinilla all made the squad.

Injured: Eugenio Mena (42/3), Marcelo Larrondo (0/0)

The likes of Andre Blake, Rodolph Austin and Wes Morgan are all out of contention, but the trio will represent Jamaica at the 2016 Copa America Centenario. Demar Phillips, Alvas Powell and Darren Mattocks have been omitted, whilst Damano Solomon could earn his first Jamaica cap against Chile. Coach Winfried Schafer has no other selection worries ahead of the visit to Vina del Mar.

Quick Facts

  • Over 2.5 goals were scored in each of Chile’s last three games

Chile vs Jamaica Prediction

Chile new boss Pizzi has decided to count on experience players for the upcoming Copa America and there is every chance he will field the best possible side in Friday’s warm-up game against Jamaica. The Reggae Boyz were hammered by Costa Rica in their last game on the road and I do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Chile’s party at Estadio Sausalito. The likes of Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal are likely to prove handful for the opposition defenders.
