Bayer Leverkusen vs Barcelona prediction

Barcelona will be looking to build on a thrilling 6-1 win over Roma when they take on Bayer Leverkusen in their final group game. The Bundesliga side are eyeing a place in the Champions League knockout stages, but they face an uphill task in the BayArena clash.

Europa League – Bayer’s reality

Bayer Leverkusen have been playing below expectations in the 2015/2016 Champions League campaign. The Bundesliga outfit have registered no more than one triumph in the process to date and, as a result, they have slim chances of qualifying for the knockout stages. Roger Schmidt’s troops are level on points with second-placed Roma in Group E, but they occupy third position in the standings due to worse head-to-head record. Anyhow, Bayer Leverkusen should mind their own business in their final group game and they are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach in Tuesday’s clash against Barcelona. The Bundesliga side, though, have not been in a good form of late, with the team recording only one win in previous seven matches in all competitions. It has to be noted that Roger Schmidt’s men have netted eight goals at their BayArena in the 2015/2016 Champions League campaign.

Coach Roger Schmidt can’t count on the likes of Ryu and Jedvaj (both injury), but there are no suspended players in the home side. Lars Bender is a major doubt and he will be assessed on the match day.

Barca got their job done

Thanks to a brilliant 6-1 win over Roma Barcelona cemented top position in Group E, but they certainly want to finish the process in style. Barca head into the BayArena game following a 1-1 draw Valencia and I am positive that Luis Enrique’s men are eager to return to winning ways. The defending champions have been producing outstanding performances in the 2015/2016 Champions League campaign and it has to be noted that they have netted 14 goals in the elite competition so far. Barcelona face Deportivo La Coruna at their Camp Nou on Saturday, meaning that coach Luis Enrique is unlikely to mix the squad against Bayer Leverkusen. When the two sides met at Camp Nou earlier in the process Barcelona recorded a 2-1 win over the Bundesliga side, but you should have in mind that Leo Messi missed the match with injury. The Argentine attacker is fit for Tuesday’s encounter against Bayer and no doubt he will be a danger for the opposition defenders.

Full-back Dani Alves serves a one-match ban, while Sergi Roberto is rated doubtful. The likes of Rafinha and Douglas remain in the treatment room, while Andres Iniesta and Gerard Pique have stayed in Spain.

Bayer Leverkusen vs Barcelona betting tip

Bayer Leverkusen face a do-or-die situation in Tuesday’s match against Barcelona. The Bundesliga side are likely to go all guns blazing at Barca and seeing that they have netted 12 goals in Group E to date, I would not be surprised if the hosts score in their final group game. The Catalan giants, on the other hand, have been impressive in front of goal of late and, taking everything into account, both teams to score bet should be considered.

Tip: Both teams to score

Odds: 1.54 (6/11) at 10Bet
