Head to head record

BATE Borisov vs AS Roma 3-2 (2015/2016 Champions League)

AS Roma vs BATE Borisov prediction

Roma will be looking to get their job done in Group E with a win over BATE Borisov. The Romans are eager to get their revenge on the Belarusian side for a 3-2 loss in the reverse fixture, but Rudi Garcia’s men will have to prove their worth on the field.

A win for the next phase

Roma were totally outplayed by Barcelona at Camp Nou (1-6) in their last group game, but despite suffering the loss to the defending champions, the Giallorossi remained in second place in Group E. Rudi Garcia’s troops are level on points with third-placed Bayer Leverkusen, but seeing that they have better head-to-head record, a win over BATE Borisov on Tuesday evening will see the Serie A team make it to the Champions League knockout stages. The Romans were beaten by the Belarusian side in the reverse fixture and they are certainly hungry for revenge. The Italians defeated Bayer Leverkusen in their last home fixture in the process and seeing that they share the spoils with Barca at Stadio Olimpico, it is no surprise Rudi Garcia’s men are regarded as hot favourites to win Tuesday’s match against BATE. Seeing that both Gervinho and Salah remain in the recovery room, all eyes will be on Bosnia international Edin Dzeko when the two sides take on each other in the “Eternal City”.

The likes of Gervinho, Capradossi, Totti and Torosidis are all sidelined with injury. Mohamed Salah returned to training, but he is rated doubtful for the BATE Borisov game. Juan Manuel Iturbe is likely to replace Gervinho in the starting XI.

Poor away record

BATE Borisov did well to eliminate Partizan in the Champions League qualifiers, but many people expected that the Belarusian champions would struggle in the group stages of the elite competition. However, Aleksandr Yermakovich’s team proved the doubters wrong as a win over Roma at Stadio Olimpico would see the Belarusians make it to the Champions League knockout stages. The team’s away record, though, is anything but good and you should bear in mind that BATE Borisov have are on a 14-game winless run in the elite competition, speaking of away fixtures. The Belarusian team have conceded seven goals on the road in the 2015/2016 Champions League and they certainly face an uphill task in Tuesday’s clash against Roma. Aleksandr Yermakovich’s did defeat the Serie A side in front of home fans, but beating the Stadio Olimpico outfit away from home is easier said than done.

Coach Aleksandr Yermakovich has no fresh injury worries ahead of the trip to Rome and he is likely to field the best possible side against Roma. The Belarusian tactician is likely to stick to the 4-3-3 formation.

AS Roma vs BATE Borisov betting tip

Roma are on the verge of booking their place in the Champions League knockout stages, but they need to cross one more hurdle in order to meet their goal. The Romans have been impressive at their Stadio Olimpico this season and given BATE’s poor away record, there is every chance Rudi Garcia’s team will pick up all three points from Tuesday’s clash. It has to be noted that the Giallorossi have netted four goals at home ground in the process, while conceding three. BATE Borisov recorded a 3-2 win over Roma when the two sides met at Borisov Arena in the reverse fixture.
