Schalke vs Hannover prediction

Following a thrilling 4-0 win over Ingolstadt at the weekend, Hannover will be aiming to give their fans yet another reason for celebration when they square off against Schalke at Veltins-Arena on day 15 of the 2015/2021 Bundesliga campaign.

Five-game winless run

Schalke 04 faced a tough fixture list in November and, as a result, they extended their winless run to five matches in Bundesliga. Die Knappen first suffered back-to-back defeats to the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich, with the team sharing the spoils with Bayer Leverkusen in their last league match. The team, though, face a much easier task on Friday night as they host Hannover at their Veltins-Arena. Andre Breitenreiter’s men sit in eighth position in Bundesliga standings, but they are just two points behind the Champions League berth. Schalke are eager to regain their spot in the elite competition, but they need to start a new winning run as soon as possible if they are to meet the goal. You should have in mind that die Knappen are after their fourth home win of the season. Andre Breitenreiter’s troops have defeated the likes of Hertha, Eintracht Frankfurt and Mainz at their Veltins-Arena in the 2015/2021 Bundesliga campaign.

Johannes Geis returns to contention after missing the Bayer Leverkusen game through suspension. The likes of Uchida, Giefer, Hoger and Sam are all likely to miss the match with injury.

Impressive win over Ingolstadt

Following back-to-back defeats to the likes of Hertha and Borussia M’gladbach, Hannover recorded a routine 4-0 win over Ingolstadt in their last Bundesliga match. Die Roten are brimming with confidence ahead of the trip to Gelsenkirchen, but they certainly face a difficult task in Friday’s match against die Knappen. Michael Frontzeck’s men are just four points clear of bottom three, but, no doubt, they want to climb to the safe zone in the Bundesliga standings. Hannover suffered a 2-1 loss to Borussia M’gladbach in their last away match in the national championship, but it has to be noted that they have already recorded two win on the road, with the team beating the likes of Koln and Hamburger away from home. Artur Sobiech failed to score in the 4-0 win over Ingolstadt, but he is widely expected to lead the attack for the visitors against Schalke 04. The 25-year-old Polish attacker has netted three goals in the 2015/2021 Bundesliga campaign to date.

First-choice goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler is a major doubt and he will be assessed on the match day (stomach infection). Japanese defender Hiroki Sakai could miss the match through illness as well.

Schalke vs Hannover betting tip

I believe that the time has come for Schalke 04 to start a new winning run in Bundesliga. Die Knappen were not capable of matching title-chasing teams in previous league fixtures, but I believe that they are capable of picking up all three points from Friday’s game against Hannover. Seeing that the visitors are likely to be without their first-choice goalkeeper in the Veltins-Arena clash, I am tempted to put my money on the home side this time out. In their last meeting in Gelsenkirchen Schalke recorded a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Hannover, with Marco Hoger scoring the winner for die Knappen.
