Eintracht Frankfurt vs Bayern Munich prediction
Coming fresh from their DFB Pokal away defeat to Aue, Eintracht Frankfurt are set to welcome the rampant Bayern Munich who are undefeated in the current league campaign. Guardiola’s troops have recorded their 10th Bundesliga triumph and will surely be hoping to keep their fantastic run going.
Not much to hope for
History is against the Armin Veh’s Frankfurt who have won only one of their last 15 games in all competitions against Bayern Munich. Each of their last six encounters were lost without a single goal scored and the hosts will have little to hope for when they welcome the Bundesliga champions. Die Adler are set to welcome Bayern on the back of their third league win this term though, over Hannover away, having previously notched back-to-back defeats to Borussia Monchengladbach (5-1) and Ingolstadt (2-0). However, their latest DFB Pokal outing against Aue ended in a disappointing 1-0 defeat which comes in a bad time for Armin Veh’s troops. Frankfurt midfielder Stefan Aigner spoke of the fans’ discontent after the Aue loss pointing out that the club broke everything that was built against Hannover. Munich-born player will mark his 100th appearance for Eintracht Frankfurt against Bayern Munich and will hope to make his mark against the German champions.
The hosts will be without their long-term absentees Sonny Kittel, Bamba Anderson and Joel Gerezgiher who are still struggling with their injuries. Emil Balayev is also ruled out and not expected to get back in action until December. David Abraham has suffered a knock to his knee and will be a major doubt.
Flying Bavarians
Bayern Munich are the first ever Bundesliga club to win their opening ten games in this competition. Reigning champions seem unstoppable at the moment and have every reason to hope for their 11th in a row stretching all the way to last season. The Bavarians have been defeated once this season at the hands of Arsenal in their last week’s Champions League duel. The 2-0 defeat was a wakeup call for the team which usually has no problems with complacency. Team’s captain Philipp Lahm assured that Bundesliga champions are feeling hunger and desire to continue their dominant run and to record yet another win. Much of attention has been put on Pep Guardiola recently. The Spanish mastermind has demonstrated his great tactical knowledge against Wolfsburg in DFB Pokal match when he fielded an unusual 2-3-5 formation which yielded a 3-1 triumph. Guardiola is being touted for a move to Premier League with Manchester City, Chelsea and even Manchester United all willing to take him on board. Some reports claim that Bayern manager could take another sabbatical before accepting another job after his reign in Germany is over.
The Spanish manager should have his full squad at disposal, with the exception of his long-term injuries Mario Gotze and Franck Ribery.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Bayern Munich prediction
The hosts are aware of the challenge that lies ahead. Their last 15 games against the Friday’s opposition have went awry and with Bayern Munich blazing through the Bundesliga this season I don’t see any reason why Guardiola’s men will not record their 11th consecutive win, and with a high margin.
