Team News

Important defender Carlos Zambrano (39/4) recovered from a rib injury to start against Colombia, and he should keep his place in the side after coach Ricardo Gareca opted against punishing the centre-back and Andre Carrillo for a late night out.

Jefferson Farfan (71/19) should be back in contention after missing the Colombia defeat through a muscle strain and he is tipped to replace veteran striker Claudio Pizarro in the starting line-up.

There were more good news for Careca considering that starting right-back Luis Advincula (52/0) recovered from injury, while Yoshimar Yotun could be recalled to the side.

Probable starting line-up (4-2-3-1): Gallese – Advincula, Zambrano, Ascues, Yotun – Lobaton, Ballon – Cueva, Farfan, Carrillo – Guerrero.

Team News

Veteran midfielder Jaime Valdes (3/0) has left the national team after suffering a muscle problem, whereas Charles Aranguiz (40/6) remains a long-term casualty.

Gary Medel suffered a food poisoning, but is already feeling better and his place in the starting line-up should now be in doubt, just like that of Arturo Vidal, who has recovered from a knee injury.

The latest reports suggest that Matias Fernandez and Eugenio Mena will be drafted into the side, with Jorge Valdivia and Jean Beausejour likely to be dropped.

Probable starting line-up (3-4-1-2): Bravo – Medel, Silva, Jara – Isla, Diaz, Vidal, Mena – Fernandez – Sanchez, Vargas.
